Sri. H.D.Kumaraswamy,
Former Chief Minister of Karnataka
The IT sector in India and in the State is facing acute shortage of work force with appropriate skills. Only 1/4th of the engineers are employable in the IT Industry. It is high time that IT Training Institutions bestow attention towards this and make our fresh engineers and graduates capable of being absorbed in the industry. Having the required IT skill sets is assuming ever greater importance in the current business environment where the ICT sector has emerged as a major driver of growth in the economy.
I am happy that Raman International Institute of Information Technology (RIIIT) is starting an 'IT Finishing School' in Mysore, focused on equipping our young graduates with the requisite IT skills.
I wish RIIIT good wishes in its endeavors.
